About
About the Movement
A caring food system for farmers, communities and animals. Not corporations.
Across Europe, we are experiencing the devastating impacts of an intensive agricultural model often championed by our governments and supported by big business. To forever expand this system, they grab the land of our countryside – from us the communities living there – wrecking natural habitats, biodiversity, people’s health and well-being.
These industrial animal operations are spewing out manure, pesticides and fertilizers that contaminate rivers, lakes and drinking water. Ammonia emissions pollute the air and poison protected habitats.
And we – the rural communities – pay the price: our health, homes and quality of life devastated by the noise, stench and pollution.
We came together as a European community of resistance against a toxic agribusiness-sponsored factory farm system.
We campaign for a Europe free from animal factories, where small-scale, local and fair farming respects animals, people and nature.
We fight to strengthen the rights of local communities and small farmers to shape our food system – through the sharing of information, resources and contacts.
We resist the expansion of polluting animal factories and protect our land, water, and health.
We demand public policies that put people, farmers, and the environment before big business.
Who We Are
We are concerned citizens, local groups and movements living in rural areas across Europe impacted by the damaging effects of animal factories or ‘factory farms’. Civil society organisations support us and fight with us against the industrialisation of animal farming.
Partner Organisations
We are currently represented by members of different organisations in Spain, France, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, England, Northern Ireland, Romania and Italy.
Our Demands
We demand public policies that put people, farmers, and the environment before big business. It means addressing the structural drivers of animal factories development, to eventually completely phase out factory farming and transition to agroecological methods.
Protect people from pollution for profit
Support sustainable farmers, not big business
End factory farming
